In honour of Kathleen

Hello all,

This campaign has been established to honour the life and spirit of Kathleen Gaffney, a dear friend, mentor, and colleague to many energy and climate professionals across the world. 

Kathleen chose to focus her career on advancing the global energy transition. She worked tirelessly across multiple organisations on this issue, inspiring many along the way.

To commemorate Kathleen, we are reaching out to her colleagues and friends to raise funds to continue her work in her effortless and joyful way. The means by which we would recognise Kathleen depend on the funds raised, with possible options including:

1. 1. Under 1000 euros: 

   1. - Establishing a travel bursary to help young professionals to take part in international climate and energy conferences and training programmes  

2. ---

   2. Between 1000 and 5000 euros:

   1. - Establishing a prize for the best research paper as part of a future clean energy or energy efficiency conference.

   2. - Providing partial financial support to a graduate student or young professional studying or working on the energy transition.

3. ---

   3. Above 5000 euros: 

   1. Establishing a scholarship in her name to support a student, researcher or young professional to do cutting edge work on the energy transition. 

In addition to these financial actions, we will also establish a professional network of Kathleen’s former colleagues, available to mentor and support young professionals working on the energy transition.
